LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

This program will make you think differently about what leadership is. You’ll walk away with skills and tools to use in your everyday life.

Leadership Newton is designed to significantly enhance the individual’s understanding and appreciation of life in the Newton area. Participants can expect to better understand and be more effective with their own leadership style at the conclusion of the program.

Participantswill include a diverse mix of backgrounds:

· Employers and employees

· Varied ethnicities, ages and religious backgrounds

· Persons in positions of authority, elected officials

· Unemployed individuals

· Members of churches, non-profit organizations, etc.

· Persons looking to be involved in their community

· Others interested in personal growth

Program Objectives

· Participants will learn about the community of Newton

· Participants will learn what makes leadership challenging

· Participants will develop effective leadership skills

· Participants will learn how to implement the skills at home, at work and in the community

· The program will teach skills to individuals of diverse economic, social, ethnic and religious backgrounds.

Training Provided by Growth Associates, owned by Racquel Thiesen and Sherri Buss Rawlins. Growth Associates uses small group conversations, low-risk experiments, peer consulting and interactive teaching techniques to foster leadership skills and competencies. Tools and concepts for working with local “case in point” community challenges, family life and work situations will be taught and practiced throughout the program.

· Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from 12:00-5:00 p.m.

· Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 12:00-5:00 p.m.

· Wednesday, April 21, 2010 from 12:00-5:00 p.m.

· Wednesday, April 28, 2010 from 12:00-5:00 p.m.

· Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 12:00-5:00 p.m.

· Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from 12:00-5:00 p.m.

Class location to be determined. Each session will include lunch. All class supplies needed are provided.
