Hutchinson Community College (HCC) in Hutchinson is a public, two-year college with an enrollment of 4,500 students. HCC provides academic excellence to meet the educational needs of the people in its service area. HCC offers courses to prepare students for transfer to four-year institutions. The school also offers skills needed for students to take advantage of career of opportunities in industry or business after two-year or nine-month programs. Area of focus included in HCC’s two-year Associate of Applied Science Degree programs is machine technology, manufacturing engineering technology, electronic engineering technology, and data processing. Among the nine-month certificates available are bookkeeping, machine shop technology, and welding technology. Transfer programs include engineering, data processing, and accounting.
HCC offers courses at a number of neighboring communities including several locations in Harvey County, making the curriculum easily accessible to a large number of people. HCC began offering daytime and evening classes at their new location at 203 E. Broadway. HCC also offers a full range of evening classes at Newton High School and vocational programs at Brooks Trade Center.
